necro and mage are good choices to solo and farm.

Do a quick search for "necro levelling guide" or something along those lines, there are plenty of threads out there with recommendations for where to hunt. There's a couple of great getting started guides on the p1999 wiki, too.

There are about a million necros on the server already so you'll be in good company. They are probably a good choice if you haven't played in forever, since they're self-reliant and relatively easy, although you'll be surprised how quickly you remember how to play. It had been 9 or ten years since I played and I found slipping back into it pretty natural.
