Default Will Steam's House of Thule work?

Hi,

I just learned about Project 1999 and use to play EQ back in the day and really want to get back into it and play the original content to bring back such great memories, although I don't have my EQ discs anymore so I'm going to purchase it on steam.

I know the guide says buy Underfoot but since steam has the newest expansion package out for "The House of Thule" I wanted to check to make sure that will work before I purchase it.

Thanks

Nope, you need the Titanium version. You found HoT on the web i am sure you can find Titanium if you look hard enough.

It says you can also use the Steam version of Underfoot, so what I'm wondering is if I can use the steam version of HoT

HoT will not work. You will need to get ahold of a copy of Titanium. The only ways I know of to do this are to purchase titanium or otherwise find a copy for download during a torrential downpour.

The project 1999 getting started guide (located here: http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2651 ) states:

Quote:
To get started, you must first obtain a copy of the specific Everquest client that is compatible with our server. This client is called the Titanium client, and can be found in various places like amazon, or ebay. The reason it must be the Titanium client is due to the way the client communicates with the server. Every time Everquest has a patch, those communication protocols are changed in that version of the client, and will no longer work with previous versions of server communication protocols. For this reason, only a Clean Install of Everquest Titanium will work.
The eqemu guide it links to (located here: http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide ) is the only thing that mentions HoT as a supported client, however eqemu != project 1999, however their login server is used (hence the linking to the guide).

I simply love the Monkey Island games, there was an awesome theme to it! Just felt the need to share that with the world [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
