Default Snowdrift Elf Cookie Quest Info

Think I've only seen one other person doing this quest the entire time I've been out here hustling cookies, so figured I'd pass along the info for anyone interested in another way of finding Holiday Gifts. Note that I haven't been able to get my logging to work for years though, so below is just a summary of the quest parts. Auriel in Stonebrunt offers the most lore for the elves, and even mentions a Snowdrift Plane (CUSTOM CONTENT?!), so its worth stepping through the dialog if you're into it.

Anyway, the quest starts with Merrith Snowshimmer, who can be found in Greater Faydark near the newbie lift on the path to the PoD lift at 150, -75.

She needs help delivering ingredients to make cookies to ensure their festival doesn't make people sad, and will hand you a Jug of Holiday Milk once you mention to her that you will help [gather and make] the ingredients.

Jug of Holiday Milk

Item Lore: A jug of milk for the Kerrans.

Merrith requests that you deliver the milk to Frostkeeper Auriel, who can be found in Stonebrunt Mountains near the campfire in the middle of the Kerran village at 1300, -525.

Turning in a Jug of Holiday Milk to her (and not your Twisted Nature Leggings) yields:
Batch of Kerran Cookies
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Item Lore: These freshly baked cookies smell wonderful, but could use some sweet frosting.

Auriel then sends you off to Glacielle, who can be found in Misty Thicket just out front of the hobbit hole to Rivervale at 425, -2125.

Turning in a Batch of Kerran Cookies to her yields:
Package of Frosted Kerran Cookies
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Item Lore: These look just like the cookies mom used to make, except without sprinkles.

Glacielle sends you off to Jolly Jingleclog, who can be found in the Swamp of No Hope near the ramp up to the Froglok town at -1240, -2125.
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Turning in the Packaged of Frosted Kerran Cookies to him yields:
Package of Finished Cookies
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Item Lore: The best cookies you have seen in your whole life!

The cookies now finished, you return them to Merrith in Greater Faydark and are awarded with a Holiday Gift
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Item Lore: A festive package wrapped with care, its magic radiates joy, generosity, and go[sic].

Think that about covers it. Hopefully those of you who are having trouble getting gifts to drop will give this quest a shot.

As far as my results go- opening the gift for myself each time* has produced a message of "You begin to greedily open the gift! As you unwrap it, you" and one of the following
  • begin to smell something delicious! (food/drink)
  • suddenly feel very disappointed. (coal)
  • see a bottle with swirling liquid inside! (10 dose potion)
  • catch a glimpse of a sparkling gem! (gems, including flawless diamonds)
  • see a new toy! (sparklers, rod of identification, spyglass)

With the following unique items:
Lump of Coal

Wow you've been busy! I've only got a few of the gifts off mobs... but received a flawless diamond and 10 dose stinging wort so far.

It makes me so happy to see folks actually experiencing all of this. :-)

The staff (especially Guide Dester from Blue) put a ton of work into the dialogue and lore of the Snowdrift Elves.

With the gifts, remember...

Yeap, one thing that I didn't convey at all since I wasn't able to include the quest text is that every Snowdrift Elf really reinforces the idea that it's better to share your gifts with one another.

I've been getting coal 30% of the time by greed opening them, and I suspect that, at the very least, that'll be less/none at all when sharing (someone plz confirm). I haven't been able to find a use for the coal (tried turning 1x to each elf/4x into Merrith, giving Merrith some food w/ coal, looking for recipes that might be able to use it since it identifies as smelling like fruitcake), and I really doubt there's a turn-in bailout for them anyway given all of the encouragement to share [You must be logged in to view images. Finally found out my logs were being stored AppData/VirtualStore due to permission issues, but looks like I can't edit OP to include them. Here's the quest dialog for those that aren't able to make the trip-

You say, 'Hail, Merrith Snowshimmer'
Merrith Snowshimmer says, 'Hi there, Halfling! Do you have some time to [help] me get ready for the Yule Festival?'
You say, 'help'
Merrith Snowshimmer says, 'Fantastic news! I’m in charge of gathering the food for the festival, but I’m running behind. Could you help me [gather and make] the cookies?'
You say, 'gather and make'
Merrith Snowshimmer says, 'Great! The festival isn’t complete without cookies! I need this package of milk delivered to Frostkeeper Auriel. She was working with the Kerrans in the Stonebrunt Mountains. She should be in the village there. But hurry, we won't be here long! When the final Yule star fades from the sky, we too shall depart.'

=====

You say, 'Hail, Frostkeeper Auriel'
Frostkeeper Auriel says, 'Greetings, Jomar! Are you here to learn more of the [Snowdrift] elves?'
You say, 'snowdrift'
Frostkeeper Auriel says, 'Long ago, before the great cities of Norrath had risen to their full splendor, a small group of elves in the Faydark felt a calling that neither their brethren nor Tunare herself fully understood. This group, deeply attuned to the magical forces of cold and snow, found their spirits resonating with a plane that existed beyond mortal comprehension—a realm of [perpetual winter], joy, and timeless peace known as the Plane of Snowdrift.'
You say, 'perpetual winter'
Frostkeeper Auriel says, 'It is said that during one particularly harsh winter, these elves heard the whispers of an ancient entity—an enigmatic being of frost and cheer known only as Aurilias, the Eternal Snowfall. Aurilias offered them a pact: to ascend beyond the bounds of Norrath and join her in her ethereal [plane]. There, they would become guardians of goodwill and stewards of winter’s beauty, charged with ensuring that joy and kindness persevered even in the darkest of times.'
You say, 'plane'
Frostkeeper Auriel says, 'The Plane of Snowdrift is a realm of endless winter wonder, where snow never melts and magic infuses the air like the sparkle of a thousand falling snowflakes. In this frozen paradise, we dedicate our lives to crafting tools of joy, watching over the people of Norrath, and preparing for our annual return to the mortal plane.'

Upon turning in the Jug of Holiday Milk-
Frostkeeper Auriel says, 'Thank you for the milk! The Kerrans seem to have an affinity for this, and it’s a critical ingredient to their secret cookie recipe! Can you bring this batch of cookies to Glacielle over in Misty Thicket? She’s working on the frosting for them!'

=====

You say, 'Hail, Glacielle'
Glacielle says, 'Happy Yule, Jomar! We Snowdrift Elves are here to help drive the spirit of giving in this most festive time of year! Tell me, do you prefer to [give] or [receive] presents?'
You say, 'give'
Glacielle says, 'That’s wonderful! The Snowdrift Elves have been working hard all year long to make presents that bring cheer to Norrathians, large and small!'
You say, 'receive'
Glacielle says, 'Getting gifts is so much fun! But for us Snowdrift Elves, what’s even more fun is sharing them with others!'

Upon turning in the Batch of Kerran Cookies-
Glacielle says, 'These cookies smell magnificent! Frosting them should be very quick!. Yes, there we go, the cookies are frosted. Now we only need some sprinkles and they’ll be ready for the festival. I think Jolly Jinglecog was working on that over in the froglok village in the swamp of no hope. You wouldn’t think Frogloks would like sprinkles, but they look just like flies so they love them! Oh don't worry, the sprinkles aren’t actually flies. They're as sweet as any other sprinkles… they just look like flies!'

=====

You say, 'Hail, Jolly Jingleclog'
Jolly Jingleclog says, 'Happy Yule Season, Halfling! Don’t you just love the swamp? So many wonderful plants that can bring festive cheer to even the darkest cave!'

Upon turning in the Frosted Kerran Cookies-
Jolly Jingleclog says, 'Let me add these sprinkles on, just like that. Yes, fantastic. They are ready for the festival! Can you bring them back to Merrith? These will be a cornerstone of the festival for sure! The best of the best, made with love from some of the many races of Norrath. It’s a testament to what we can do when we work together'

=====

Upon returning to Merrith and turning in the Package of Finished Cookies-
Merrith Snowshimmer says, 'Thank you so much for helping me with this delivery, Jomar. I know it may not seem like much, but these cookies are a hit at every festival we’ve ever done, and it would have been sad without them! For all your hard work helping the Snowdrift Elves get ready, I have something for you! Remember, it’s yours to do what you choose with, but giving is one of the best parts of the holiday!'

I can confirm that you want to GIVE these. My wife & I got a message saying something rare just for you, was in a gift.

We got a Wand of Frost Bolts: https://wiki.project1999.com/Wand_of_Frost_Bolts

We have NEVER gotten coal by sharing the gifts, I think that only exists for self-opening. I have also not heard of anyone self-opening a gift and getting the rare prizes. Make some friends, share those gifts!!!!

Can confirm, sharing is caring. Haven't self-opened any gifts and through sharing wife and I got a Rod of Faith and a Haze Panther Tunic as well as tons of gems and potions. No coal. We have been very good this Christmas! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
