Unknown referenced memory need help

Hello P99. I need a little help here.

After clicking on a server and attempting to get to the character login, my screen flickers a few times then I get this error:

"The instruction at 0x10001 c6b referenced memory at 0x00000018. The memory could not be read"


Then it asks me to click ok to terminate. While I get this message I can hear the EQ music in the backround but I see no characters. I am useing windows 7 OS. On an HP G60-535DX Notebook.

Last night it was working just fine, then today I had turned the Java Updates off to stop poping up. I also visited a porn site(Im not ashamed). If anyone has any idea how to fix this this error, please help me out. Thank you.

Rogean or Secrets please get back to me on this issue. Its day 2 im still getting this memory error. Iv ran multiple virus scans and found nothing. I even attempted to do a system restore but unsuccesful cause it says i have an anti virus running, which iv turned off many times. Someone please contact me on this issue. Thank you.

go to the eqclient.ini setting and make sure the resolution is in check with what it needs to be for your machine.

Ok so I reinstalled the game and tried DLing new drivers. Still getting same error. The Ini file is set correctily as well. Also, when I try to start it in windowed mode it says resetdevice failed and kicks me out.

SOLUTION FOUND

I rolled an intimidation check against Drol's laptop and won!

Right click the shortcut Icon > Properties > Compatibility > check the boxes that say:
Disable visual themes
Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
