Game loads back to Login screen after joining server

So I enter my login and password and click on P99 and it begins to load and quickly (very quickly) finishes and then goes right back to the login screen. Sometimes it gives me an error saying "Cannot log in to everquest server. You may need to re-run the update patch"


Any help?
