![]() Is there any definitive directive that's been given in terms of whether weapons actually help/hurt when given to a pet?
My memory is poor, but I thought I remember that giving weapons to pet in classic was a huge debate. I haven't parsed any numbers so I don't know. I've heard - give 2 low delay weapons to a pet and it makes the dual wield attack at lower levels. I've heard, give one low delay and one high dam and you get the best of both worlds...high damage with low delay. I've heard - pets dont need them, it doesn't change anything, they dual attack anyway. Etc... Does anyone know the actual truth of the matter in terms of how it actually is here on P99? Thanks.

![]() Pets don't use the damage or delay of weapons you give them on this server. At some level, 24+ I think, giving pets weapons will make them dual wield. At level 44+ pets will dual wield without weapons, at which point there isn't any reason to give pets weapons except for weapons with procs.

![]() I summon my daggers to give to my pet so they can hit magical creatures

![]() So giving weapons pets is primarily cosmetic, or possibly for hitting magical only creatures...some weapons do proc though correct?

I believe they need magic weapons to hit magic creatures until 16. Yes, procs work such as Gnoll Hide Lariat

![]() Does that 24-43 Duel wield trick work for SK pets too?

![]() No, it goes based on pet lvl, not character level. Ud have to treat ur sk pet like it was a low lvl necro pet. Im assuming.

Just cross-reference the SK pet spell vs the lvl the necro gets it. So.. Restless Bone - pet lvl 16 - SK gets spell at 30 This is the first magic hitting pet, if i remember correctly. Summon Dead - pet lvl 25 - SK gets spell at 49 This pet should dual wield if you give him weapons.
