What would you really need for a beta? All you need are some ppl on there to hit/cast on eachother and test the pvp aspect of it. Not like you need an entire server up and running, unless you want to test the hardware since it is new.

with no item loot, there truly isn't a need for beta.

Just for my own clarification, what's the hard part of all this anyway? Why is this different from, say, releasing the "pvp version" of the coin operated JOUST game I loved as a kid? Flip a few bits, no?

GIVE ME MY GODDAMN PVP EVERQUEST SO I CAN BE CC"D PLZ

I'm guessing they need to

1) get the hardware set up

2) send it to the datacenter

3) set the server up and make sure it runs properly

4) decide on a ruleset

5) code that ruleset

Resist checks, AC checks, spells (such as charm).

PvP actually has to work pretty differently than normal PvE otherwise we'd be overwhelmed with bugs and people would be exploiting left and right *cough*

Any chance Rogean has said ANY of the following?

-"within 6 months"
-"next year say 2012 summertime"
-"any date"

Anything like that? Just wondering if he's given anyone any clues... anyTHING AT ALL OMFG
