Default A new Ranger. I hear they are the jokers of EQ!

Howdy P99!

Wow, what a timewarp. Haven't played EQ for 10 years. This certainly brings back memories. Picked a ranger! Laugh now!

Haha, good times in Qeynos so far. Leveling is a bit slower than I remember, but that's okay.

Seems to always be a lot of people around, can't complain.

So... Hi all!

Cheers,

-Thrywen

Rangers are fun. Don't worry about anything.

EXP is slower than live especially in groups. I don't care what anyone says. Solo XP seems to be on target.

Ridding the world of Klicniks one Klicnik at a time!

(Or 50% of the time, Klicniks are ridding the world of pesky rangers!)

Good times to be back!

Turn in gnoll fangs in Halas at the warrrior guild master, ok. Collect em in blackburrow. You'll make some money. When you're about level 12-14, go over to West Karana and kill bandits. You can turn in their sashes to Chesgard in qeynos for a bronze weapon. You'll figure out all of this on your own. Training up fletching is not a bad idea, but it's expensive past 92 ( or so ) to train. At level 15, if you make 3 damage arrows and got a decent bow for your level then you'll be surprised how effective rooting + bowing is. Don't forget to train bind wound. You don't get a better heal until level 21 or 22.

And it'll be hard. Go here to see what I mean:
http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...67&postcount=7

Just think.. There will be 50% less of you (rangers) at level 60 than at levels 1-9. Your population share in a given lvl range will always be less than 4%. But if you truly have a thing for rangers in your soul, you'll do fine.

I recommend reading Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit for inspiration about what rangers are. Another source of ideas is to go over to wikipedia and take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icewind_Dale_Trilogy.

May the light of the sun and the path of wisdom guide your way, sir.

Remove your XP bar from your UI... best damn decision I ever made. Every DING is a complete surprise... and you just focus on playing.

I think I'm using the Velious UI... but go into whatever .xml file you have your XP bar on (mine's in the inventory window, so I am editing EQUI_Inventory.xml) and:

1) Create a BACKUP... label it EQUI_Inventory.bak for instance, so you can revert back to it if you F something up. Otherwise EQ may crash out when it tries to load your UI.

2) Look for lines that describe the XP gauge, like:

and delete them.

3) Then you need to find the part where it defines all the pieces of the UI and remove the piece definition as well:

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

4) Save the file as the actual EQUI_Inventory.xml file (or whatever file you were modifying) and enjoy worry-free XPing!

As an added challenge to the game, for pro clerics, remove the HP bars in your group's status window!!
