Default Good set of budget equipment for a Shaman?

My guild wants a couple for their raid lineups, so I thought I'd start working on one since I'm too bored to play my Paladin.

I can craft banded armor, but assuming that's no good for a shaman, aside from 55HP rings, what are some other items I might want on a 1k budget?

Are you planning to solo or join groups?

Either way, full banded armor is fine for a while. If you're mostly grouping, you might want to pick up a pair of Moonstone Rings and Golden Jaded Bracelets for the +mana, but you can just as easily do without them.

For soloing, look for gear with AC and +HP if possible. Totemic pieces should also be in your price range. You'll want to use a shield and one-hander (blunt or piercing) until you can afford a nice 2HB (and use it without hitting the damage cap). Jade Chokidai Prod is nice, but might be a little out of reach; there are a number of 1HB weapons out there with a decent ratio that you can also use.

Finally, there are a number of shaman gear threads out there - just search for shaman in the title. Most will be for a bigger budget, but they'll point you in the right direction.

lol..... shaman now? how many alts do you have now?

shamans don't need gear. play naked to 60, get torpor and a JBB and you win the game.

true story, i duoed with a shaman who used a fine steel spear and had about 80 wisdom all the way to lvl 40. he said he was saving every scrap for a JBB (which is probably a good first purchase). He quit playing because BF3 came out and he was getting bored, but he did everything a shaman is expected to do and we duoed just fine.

I'm buying a set of gear for EVERY class. Seriously.

And what's JBB?

jaundiced bone bracer. right click 250 dmg nuke that takes 6 seconds to channel. best item in the game for a shaman. sells for between 28 and 35k right now.

imo you're wasting your time twinking up all these different classes. you could level 1 toon to low 50s, get lucky on a few rolls in crypt and have 50-100k to twink out whatever you want.
