Not letting me in past the login to sever screen

I'm trying to play eq on my computer at my dad's house its a better spec'd computer but it runs off of satellite internet. For some reason it will let me log in to eq. But when I get to the select server screen and go to join the p99 server the screen windows then go's black and boots me back to login any idea why this is?

Sounds like a video resolution problem, edit eqclient.ini in your EQ folder and set the resolutions to whatever your screen is set for.

Likely culprit indeed and if you no good with editing files try loading in windowed mode or if you are already, full screen. Then change reso in game.
