![]() My necro is level 11 and I'm really wanting to kill some willowisps, but the fact that my pet can't hit them is a major issue because he can't get any aggro. Are there any extremely cheap magic weapons I can get for them? Or perhaps, repeatable, easy newbie quests that give one in the Qeynos area?
I had one magic weapon to give him that was from a druid/ranger surefall quest. I'd been killing rabid grizzlies in QH whenever I saw them (for exp) and got both parts of the staff, and looked it up to see what they were for. Did the oldschool "drop items on the ground and quickly log into another character" thing to complete the quest and get the weapon back to my necro. But, as far as I know, the rabid bears are semi-rare spawns and not reliable for consistent pet weapons. I've considered giving my pet my Noclin's Femur (Erud necro newbie quest). It's magic, and the quest is fairly repeatable, but it's all the way over in Paineel. Also, it's my primary weapon. I love the thing, especially now that the proc works on it. Any suggestions?. On a side note, was it like this in Classic? Necro pets not being "magic"? I mean, they are bone chips reanimated and held together with magic, aren't they? I never played a necro in classic, but I had a mage. I don't recall running into this issue. Then again, mages can summon magic weapons so maybe that's what I did back then.

![]() The parts for the Jagged Pine Crook drop from the Gnoll Hunter, not the rabid bears.

![]() Your pet won't equip Noclin's Femur because it's no drop. Try to get a mage to summon you a bunch of summoned daggers. You can corpse bank them so you can keep using them after you log out. You can even do it yourself, since it's a level 1 magician spell and if you sell the starter robe, you can buy the spell. Or have a friend create a level 1 mage for you to give you some summoned daggers.

![]() What I did, was make a level 1 mage. Summoned a bunch of daggers, dropped them on the ground, and relogged with my necro real quick. Kind of a pain, but it was the cheapest way.

![]() Just wanted to note-- I had a cleric buddy give my SK's skelly pet a summoned hammer of wrath in an attempt to give the pet magic damage.
Unfortunately, the skelly didn't equip the hammer visually, nor was he able to hit magic mobs afterwards.

![]() I found out that you can give your pets a Lightstone(only the weakest ones as the greater lightstones go for over 4pp) looted of a Wisp it will do dmg then. These are magic items if u look at description, so if u can kill one with magic then equip the lightstone and the pet will hold agro better. One of the pets attacks is still invulnerable but i think its the secondary does hit for damge.
Hope it helps | ||
