Default New Player to server

Hello all, new player on the server here, rolled a paladin named Aristede and am looking for some advice on cheap gear to get me going. So far I have a few pieces of bronze, but without knowing the server economy not sure where I should go from here, thinking a weapon would be priority. Hope to see you folks in game!!!

Hey! Welcome to the server. You'll find that people are generally very helpful to those who are new to the server. You did the right thing by posting here as I am sure you'll get some offers of help with some starting gear. I'd say an important thing to do is to get a weapon which can hit magic only mobs (and shield for bash if you use 1H weapons).
I'm always torn about giving too much to new players because for some, it ruins the challenge of starting out new on the server. When I help folks out, for melee I try to help with a weapon as I had said and for casters, some plat for spells. I base this upon what frustrated me more than added to the fun. No magic weapon always limited me significantly in terms of where I could go (when I was starting out completely from scratch) and not having my spells was a constant source of frustration as a casting type (to this day).
As a Paladin, you should do well getting cheap paladin only items for sale cheap by players as there has generally been a lower population of paladins on the server.
So, welcome to the server! If I see you I think I have a Bone Bladed Claymore on my mule in EC which has your name on it (assuming you still need one)

Welcome to the server! As a paladin, I'd start collecting those bone chips after you lay waste to many undead. You can sell them to necros for 5 to 10pp a stack. With that money, you can get some paladin only gear (usually not too expensive).

Best way to get gear here is to hang out in East Commonlands and anytime you see an item you want send a tell to the person and say, "How much for item X?" When they tell you it's way more than you can afford go, "Oh wow, sorry! I only have 20pp! I'm new to the server."

You'll have over a million platinum in gear by the end of a week. Just put all your gear in the bank and walk around at level 8-12 wearing nothing but patchwork armor with a fine steel sword.

Oh and play a female with a legitimate female name.. No, not "Licksu".. Something like, "Julisa" or "Sami"

Once you get up to about 60k this is going to result in diminishing returns. Next you'll buy items like Fungi Tunics for 60k then selling them for "75k firm." Never budging in your price no matter what sob story you hear.

Another legitimate tactic is to make a level 1 then go to EC and just tell people you want to buy something from them. They'll tell you where they are. Walk up to them and wait for them to open the trade window. Then just click trade. Every so often someone will just click trade in return without thinking since they're so trained that "green means go."

Plat billionaire by the end of the month.

It's so nice to put a p99 handle to the folks that buy my plat making PDF guides off of eBay.
