Default Bard song twisting

If you try to twist songs too fast the gem will reset over and over again until you stop for like 3 seconds then try to cast that song. Once you stop and wait it allows you to cast the song but if you twist too fast it just resets the song gem.

This is the worst its been for bards since I started in december imo

The reason for this is that you are using the "/stopsong" command at the beginning of a hotbutton I believe. I never even knew about /stopsong so I just have hotkeys that say "/cast #" (maybe with a group message in case of mezzes etc.) and since the beginning I've just been having to hit the number of the hotbutton several times to twist well. I got used to this after a while but one day tried to use /stopsong also and realized it was causing a disappearing casting bar and lots of other irritation, so I just went back to furiously pushing the hotkeys.

I think the problem could be fixed if there was some command to wait a millisecond after doing /stopsong, so that the hotbutton could ideally look like this:

/stopsong
(wait .001 seconds)
/cast #

Does such a command exist and does it help prevent the problem with twisting that so many of you are experiencing? This doesn't affect me as I don't use /stopsong but I'm still curious if this would fix the issue people have.

My casting bars disappear regardless of whether I use my /stop command macros or simply /cast # macros. I've only had the problem with gems resetting that Gwence mentioned on rare occasions, wasn't sure if it was a bug or just an unlucky string of missed notes.

Heres hoping the bard issues get resolved quickly, thanks p99 team for all your hard work [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

For me the casting bar disappears only very rarely. It's mostly due to the /stopsong command I believe.

Doing /wait does not resolve the issue.

After todays patch, tell me if it is still happening, and under what conditions it takes to make it happen. Twisting using /stopsong? Twisting using the spell gems to stop songs? And what songs you are using too, would help me track down the issue.

Well like I said, whether I use /stopsong or not mine disappear at least 9 times out of 10, so it's hard to say. Occasionally I'll get a good streak where they are visible for 5-6 casts in a row but then begin vanishing again. I've tried everything I can think of to try and isolate what's causing them to be visible sometimes but not the rest of the time - using /stopsong or not, not using hotkeys at all, using instruments, fighting while attacking or not attacking, even experimenting with different camera angles and zooms - but as far as I can tell it's just random, nothing seems to affect when they are visible and when they aren't.

Edit: Awesome Haynar! When does the patch go in? I'll log in now to experiment with different song twisting combos and see if there's any change or pattern. Thanks [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Well apparently the patch is in because they seem to be working [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Using my hotkeys setup with:

/stop
/cast #

I haven't had any disappearing songbars with any of my standard rotation songs (Haste/Resist/DD/DoT/Snare/Selos). You rock Haynar!
