![]() I hope this is the right area, I didn't see any sort of newbie subforum.
I use to play EQ a lot around 2000-2002 (Had a lv 57 ranger named "Taneras Swiftarrow/Cinderwing") and loved it. I quit shortly after luclin came about for several reasons - one being how poor of an expansion it was. I'd love to join this community but I have one big concern. Is it possible to level for a new player? I know in classic EQ you can't solo (besides necro) much past lv 12-15 or so. After that its all about grouping. Are there enough lower level players to level with? Thanks! EDIT: Also is there more than one server? If there is, is there a list where I can see where each server is with progression? I'd imagine it'd be easiest to join the youngest server. | ||

![]() There are plenty of new players to level with!
Also, many classes can solo, not just necro (and as a shaman, i find your implication that my class can't solo highly offensive =P) Necro, mage, enchanter, shaman, druid, bard are the solo superstars, wiz and monk can both solo up to 60 as well (albeit slower) even uber twinked warriors (!), sks, paladins, clerics, and rangers have some solo ability.

![]() People still level, so you can still find groups. However you can solo (slowly) as a ranger. But yes necros, bards, wizards, and druids will have it much easier.
There are two servers for P99 on the EQEMU server list (which has more beyond the P99 ones), P99 (blue, PVE) and R99 (red, PVP). They are both on Kunark but R99 doesn't have epics released yet. There is no official date provided for Velious release date. Server populations can be found along the right side of the main page (http://www.project1999.org/). When you log onto the EQEmu (which is how you get to P99, following the "getting started" instructions), you will see all the servers listed here.

![]() I also played around that time and just discovered this wonderful server. Only a lvl 2 druid so far but I look forward to spending more time on this server.

![]() If you use the EQEMU Launcher, it has a list of servers with current population numbers. I tried THF but it's too hacked up to enjoy IMO. P1999 has the most 'pure' I've found, and only has 1 PvE (blue) and 1 PvP (red) server.
As far as leveling, I've played 4-5 low-level chars (trying to find 2 mains to stick with till EQ Next comes out) and there's more people to play with here at those levels than WoW or SWTOR.

![]() Had a group in Oasis in the middle of night last night. There's groups going 24/7 and we just had a pretty big pop boost
