Default Plains Pebble Rumor

http://wiki.project1999.org/Plains_Pebble

Can anyone verify whether or not this decreases food/water consumption? GMs perhaps?

I recall this rumor on live. It was never verified and I'm quite certain, is a false rumor. What is implemented here on this server may be different however I seriously doubt that this has any merit. In my mind, it belongs in the book of crazy old rumors along side the "Anti-Camping Radius" rumor where people believed that, in order to reduce the camping of special mobs, there was a radius from its spawn point which players needed to stay out of otherwise the named mob had a drastically reduced chance of popping. I can remember being in a group back then where the members insisted that we stay a far distance from The Arch Ghoul Magus' room in order to improve his chances of showing. Ahh memories.. I heard of the pebble thing back then too but never knew of folks actually doing it. Remember, back then when this rumor showed up, nobody had any clue about how the game functioned. There were no maps, log parsers or analysis of game files to go off of. It was truly a world of discovery which was pretty damn cool.

Another thing which you could do is to note how long it takes for your food and water to tick down by one in a given zone and then get a plains pebble and do the same thing. To be accurate, you'll probably want several timings of each instance to improve measurement accuracy. It will take a while though... I recall another rumor where it was believed that drinks were consumed at an accelerated rate in the deserts of Ro however I don't recall this rumor being verified..
