If you like slow meloc kinda stuff check out mournful congregation. VERY talented australian band from the early 90's. All thier shit is 10-15 minutes long. You kinda need patience to listen to this. Its too slow for many, But GREAT EQ music =D
I reccomend from them -
When the weeping dawn betheld its mortal thirst
White Cold Wrath Burnt Frozen Blood (part 2)
Miriam
Mother - Water, the Great sea wept (Part II) (6:30 - is the best part )
The June Frost (this is like 2008 2009- Some very crazy talent here)

Sea of deprivation - (vocalist for the highs killed himself a while back. they only released 500 albums.)
Kinda crusty, awesome vocals. I reccomend
Hell Hath no Fury
Eco catastrophe
Clean ( i love this song when it hits about 2:10. It sounds so sad, but good)

Grindcore goes to chelsea grin -(these dudes look like 7th grade emo girls)
Crewcabanger
Cheyne-Strokes
Anathema Of The Sick
Imo the new cd they put out blows, so i just like these three.

Bethlehem- Crazy shit here son, its german so ill just post a link. I <3 this shit.
Bethlehem - Schatten Aus Der Alexanderwelt

Bethlehem - Tagebuch Einer Totgeburt

I'm very picky about my music so I can't say I listen to a specific genre.
More often than not the genre as a whole is kinda bland and unoriginal but there are a few bands that really stand out for me. I gravitate towards those bands and ignore the rest. Then move on to the next genre.

Punk and pretty much all of its subgenres. Not sure if you meant hardcore punk by "hardcore". There's a reason I play a bard.
