EDIT: Also just confirming that the 'You have lost experience.' message should not exist on P99, it wasn't in any of the mcoy logs.

Another potential find, from Qien logs:

I don't have a high enough character with this type of self-buff to test, so not sure if it is working correctly. I did forum search and found this: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ntended+target In the thread OP mentions the restriction message only occurs when targeting a corpse, which seems to imply it doesn't happen when targeting players (improper behavior). I'm sure its not major priority, and the logs are very early Luclin that just show this, but I find it unlikely the behavior changed post Velious.

Regarding the "you have joined the group" message on zoning - I think I remember a patch note in live along the lines of resolving missed /group messages while zoning because the server/client now maintains group membership while zoning - or something along those lines. I'm guessing those messages are from before that fix being implemented.

Also I noticed in some of your excerpts that /who results return yourself as the first result, instead of the last one on the list like we get on p99.
I really should read through my own logs sometime... -Mcoy

I don't know how to do the neat box thingy that Rygar uses but here's one I see from Loading's log on RZ:
[Thu Nov 22 18:42:49 2001] A shriveled mummy tries to hit YOU, but misses! [Thu Nov 22 18:42:49 2001] a shriveled mummy was hit by non-melee for 1 points of damage. [Thu Nov 22 18:42:49 2001] A shriveled mummy was pierced by thorns. [Thu Nov 22 18:42:49 2001] A shriveled mummy hits YOU for 24 points of damage. [Thu Nov 22 18:42:49 2001] You have been slain by a shriveled mummy! [Thu Nov 22 18:42:51 2001] Your Location is 1843.00, 93.00, 12.40 [Thu Nov 22 18:42:51 2001] Returning to home point, please wait... [Thu Nov 22 18:42:51 2001] LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... [Thu Nov 22 18:43:13 2001] You have entered West Freeport. You're able to run the /loc command after dying. On p99 I don't believe you're able to do so, as I still have the habit of hitting my /loc hotkey when I die and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work. I'm not on a char that I'd be willing to eat a death on to test it atm. -Mcoy

And Caiu, I'm pretty sure at least some are fixable, as nilbog changed the zone load name of the Hole based on what I found in Mcoy logs. I wouldn't put it past that EQmac logs were used for a lot of system messages. Would definitely like confirmation if I'm wasting my time though.

Curious how implementable this stuff is maybe someone like Telin/Nilbog can chime in? Devs must have plenty of their own logs and this seems like low hanging fruit if it isn't blocked outright by client shenanigans.
