socialism sucks. it seems like a good idea to purple haired folks that frequent starbucks, but it always breeds corrupt governments and officials cuz too much power is in the hands of the few. once they install themselves in power, they in there for life. elections become a joke. punishment is too easily handed down to millions thru decree or 'regulations' cloaked in 'social justice' diatribes.

And then socialism says you have to pretend you care about strangers as much as your own family. Which we would all love to espouse but never practice. So it never works, and markets are a much better solve for human nature.

Socialism also seems to work when it follows a successful capitalistic economic boon. It’s really hard to be socialist when your economy is in the toilet, for example. Then people start adopting a “every person for themself” mentality
