Biden is about to send out free Covid tests in the mail and then make the test free to order. Why? Because his administration cares more than the GOPs. Who freaks out over drive through Covid testing.

The same goes for living on disability.. its not a good way to live... its poverty.
I completely agree. It isn’t living. It is crushing poverty. It’s not enough money to even make ends meet, not enough for gas to go anywhere, not enough to afford to have any hobbies

That’s why it amazes me how many people I encounter who are pushing for it who I personally don’t believe need it or would qualify. I delicately explain to them all the things I just mentioned above, along with the therapeutic benefits of at least part time employment (creates a routine in life, sometimes a sense of purpose, sometimes a sense of bettering one’s community or other people, networking with others into possible friendships, I could go in forever)

Yet, in one ear out the other. They still want the disability

I don't have any mental health training, but I think disability is like a justification for someone to not do anything. You get an official like a doctor or government body to give you a label like disabled, and all the sudden its not that you don't want to do anything, you can't because you are disabled. I've seen a lot of abled bodied people leaning pretty heavily on the "I Can't, I'm on disability" crutch. I'm probably biased though because nothing gets me going like someone on disability scheduling my last appointment of the day and showing up late because they were 'too busy'.

It’s different for each one. Sometimes it’s having never entered the workforce, or having been out of the workforce for an extended period of time while living with a relative. Usually it’s an overall sense of disempowerment, but like you said, getting a “disabled” tag is only going to further that. The fear of the unknown, and the fact that making large lifestyle adjustments are difficult for all of us

It’s not like all of them could just go to a job interview the next day and be working the next week. Some of them would need to do things to improve their mental state and environment first. But they don’t want to begin that process. Even though you get paid next to nothing, that is seen as more comfortable than the adjustment needed to work to earn more. And my particular role is not vocational rehab, but there are agencies like Job Corp whose job is to prepare people for entering the workforce and even to find them entry-level jobs. Once again, it’s all voluntary though

Biden, Yellen, and the Fed can't wait for government math to take care of these CPI inflation numbers for them next year.
