Housing homeless veterans takes money from the rich.
Housing cheep workers and giving them phones lowers wages. Most homeless veterans are disabled and it would cost a lot of money to re-enable them. They really need medicaid and social security disability. And access to an affordable living situation. Most VA hospitals are in big cities with a high cost of living. They've got no where to stay while trying to sort it out themselves if they even can. Without, assistance again. The messed up thing is these guys could get benefits. They can't even get to the bank or clinic or phone store to use them tho. A lot of these guys need full time support or to live in group homes where ppl will help them with this stuff. Group homes are expensive tho. And many have drug problems, get kicked out because of dementia, anger issues, civilians being genuinely dumbasses during moments of lucidity. These guys know that the shit is hitting the fan. Some don't want welfare or to take from the pot. Many are black. A lot where probably kicked out over DUIs. Pot use or some other bullshit reason. Veterans are stigmatized and some employers are prejudiced. Especially when Veterans apply for entry level jerbs. As a veteran myself I applied for about 80 one year and of the 8 interviews I got I was immediately declined for being over qualified (too old and would have done the right thing looking out for my fellow workers). Insurance companies. (Real estate companies got outa hand 2) and now tech companies... I'm not saying no to capitalism. We need a lot of reform tho in transparency. Rules. Monopoly. Even people breaking the law deserve fairness and compassion, regardless of who they are, that doesn't mean freedom to do what they want and ABUSE the system (like so many billionaires "have to do to keep the economy going and employ slaves")🙏
