It's part of the reason I can't ally with the hardest elements of the political left in this nation even if I might agree with them on certain issues: I won't ally with people who would seek my destruction. Nor can I ally with the political right, so I'm caught between in the twilight zone where the "politics as sports teams" bunch point their fingers and call me an enemy from the other side when in reality I am on neither side.

I don't know what to tell you. I would also like a more robust system with more parties that are forced to forge alliances to pass laws, but that isn't what we have
