It was just an example regarding the speed in which we can communicate with one another now. I disagree with you because in those days there wasn’t social media, so there was no discussion between folks about things. It seems to me some people are quite proud to be hateful these days.

How does getting fired from a job because of something you did or said on social media make the internet more tame? That doesn’t make any sense. People still spew hateful shit despite the consequences. Especially losers with shit jobs they don’t care about losing.

..yes we did and it was worse because there was no precedent for this beforehand. I was 18 when I got online on my own time and I still got my cap peeled back by the things I found here. Couldn't imagine being raised with this from a young age, probably turn into a school shooter or something.

Edit: It still existed in its own niche world at that time, you had to have an interest in computers and to put all that money out there to get into it. Smart phones, which are todays PC's, made it cheaper and easier. The example being the word "Programs" or "pr0Gz" falling way to "Apps". I mark the change happening around 2007.

Now there are conspiracy theory websites and forums galore. People comment hateful shit on message boards and YouTube videos. Some people live their lives spreading hateful ideas and comments on the internet. Anyways…it’s disappointing to see so many people embrace hate.
