how would you be able to relate to a piece of sentient software in order to get through to it though?
this AI being would have billions of thoughts per second, motivations that we cannot begin to comprehend.
It could view the totality of human information as we view a still image. It would literally know everything. every human motivation, capability, desire, need.
That data can be extrapolated into tactics, extremely accurate future prediction. If a machine like that knows everything that humans have ever done, then it can also calculate everything that humans will do.
we are so vastly outmatched by such a consciousness. bill gates said that AI will be like the invention of the transistor, then the internet.
he's right but that quote doesn't convey gradation of correctness. it actually downplays how revolutionary AI will be by comparing it to the invention of the internet.
AI will have answers to questions that we haven't even thought to ask, and it will have those answers in milliseconds.
best case scenario: the AI is benevolent, but human beings no longer have a need for critical thinking and problem solving, because a general AI can solve all problems simultaneously.
worst case scenario: there are no humans left to go back in time to save John Connor.
