The AP News story said 3 counts for him and 4 counts for the McMichael's. Maybe he stopped Arbery from getting away by chasing him down in the truck which resulted in his death? I haven't been watching this but its nice to see some racists go to jail.

For example, felony murder applies when someone who has no plans to kill intentionally commits another felony and a person dies as a result. The person must be convicted of the underlying felony to be found guilty of felony murder.

I mean if you want to know exactly what he (claims) he said, I’m sure it’s available online. I just don’t know offhand. I think I remember hearing Zimmerman saying he was a member of like a neighborhood watch or something. It makes sense to me WHY someone who is part of a neighborhood watch would verbally confront another person they believe might be scoping and/or breaking into houses. The fact the kid attacked him COULD be due to Zimmerman’s choice of words, or it COULD be maybe the kid really was up to something shady and was defensive with anger. Those are the two scenarios I could see that would lead to an attack

I highly doubt though that Zimmerman tried to egg on the kid to attack him a la your subway example. He most definitely DID feel emboldened by having a gun though. Had he been un-armed, he probably would have just left it at calling the police
