![]() I am conducting a case study in P99 that focuses on players and their involvement with this project and its community, aswell as their different gaming-careers and the role Everquest had in those in the past. Therefor I am looking for people I can interview about their own experiences with P99, Classic EQ and Games/MMOs in general.
My goal is to investigate the impact Everquest had and has on different players in this community over time. I would like to talk to as many people as possible, whether you are a noob or a veteran, a dedicated developer or a casual bone-chip farmer. By collecting diverse media-biographies I aim to find patterns and commonalities that allow for a valid description of P99 as a part of contemporary (game-)culture. A few words about myself: I am a graduate in Social and Cultural Anthropology, this project now is for my master-thesis in Media and Communication Studies. My own research focus is the effect of media (especially games) on our daily lives. I have played different computer games all my live, including EQ from 1999 to about 2003 and EQ2 from 2005 to 2008. I have tried multiple other MMOs but none as intensively as the EQ series. Right now I am Raurackl, a 39 Shaman on P99 Blue. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me via PMs or in game. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, if you agree to an interview I would be even happier. I am planning each interview to last at least one hour, ultimately it depends on the person being interviewed thou. If you think everything is said after 30mins that’s that, if you like to discuss these issues for longer it’s even better for me. I hope we meet, and sorry in advance for all the silly questions.
