You can draw all sorts of analogies to the world of sports. For example, you have world records in swimming with swimmers in textile suits or swimmers in modern suits. You have powerlifters who have two competition categories: 'raw' and 'normal'. Normal allows stiff suits and knee wraps which add 300+ lbs to the bench press and squat.

I saw all this coming from the beginning which is why I established the two categories of S or 'raw' and S- or 'normal'. I think they are both reasonable rule sets, and I think that doing mobs without clickies is more impressive, but I think its also cool to push the limits of what can be done with them. I got owned by Chottal last night despite my puppet strings [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also I would be quite impressed if a Rogue can achieve GM even with Puppet Strings. The reason the strings are so strong for enchanters and shaman is that we can haste the pet and slow the opponent, and suddenly a L50 pet can kill a L55-56 mob. Not to mention that (except for the current hide/cast exploit) there is no way to get the boss mobs solo for a Rogue. I know Ploktor in particular is the ultimate 'Honorary Enchanter' in terms of Bladestopper and Strings but personally I find it cool that he can push the boundaries of the class.

TL;DR: I have S and S- if you don't like puppet strings.

edit: I did decide to revive the D- category, because lets face it makes a big difference when Svenn and I have two pets instead of one.

Great ideas. Good job on this all-around [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

And yet you come here and shit up the thread anyway. But since you didn't mean to, we should give you a pass?

The competition includes distinguishing between kills done with and without the use of such high powered items, so it's not like we're even trying to hide the fact that we use such items. If all you're here to do is to argue over the meaning of "S-", then I submit that you need to find a new way to spend your cornucopia of free time.

If you don't like the rules of this competition, make your own competition where use of puppet strings is banned. Or just continue shitting up this thread because that is what people like you do for fun.

God Mode Kills (no clickies, S/D)
Zordakalicus Ragefire [54 Warrior, Nagafen's Lair]: Sentenza/Elethia, Anthrax/Lacie

Im sitting here reading the discussion about game changing clickies and duoing when it hit me - the most game changing clicky is either Puppet String or Donals BP - its debatable. In Faz's 20k SK scenario he linked together 3 items in order to get 20k worth of HP.

Donals BP = 20million HP if you wanted. Infinite Healing thats mana free. Theres a damn good reason its nerfed shortly into Velious.

With a clicky this powerful shouldnt it also count as clicky use for the purpose of these duos?

The difference is that Donal's isn't rechargeable. So its something that could (and probably was) going on in Kunark, hence the nerf. But I agree that the strings and the donals BP are the two strongest clickies in the game.

Poll: count donal's BP as a strong clicky?

Nah, it's a 20 sec cast, so it's very limited vs the really hard mobs.

It is by far the strongest click in the game, when applicable.

100% reliable compared to puppet strings.

If you had a cleric with the DS arms, puppet strings and donals, he might be able to solo ragefire with a LDC lol.
