I didn't really say that right. Ragefire is going to stay on the god kills list, but I'm not going to add any more names to the list of god kills on the front page unless its non-donals.

if you can do ragefire with donal's bp (30 sec cast time, no recast time), then wouldn't it work the same with standard cheal on tank (10 sec cast time, ignore the recast), chain manastone (its oldworld content), cheal on cleric (10 sec cast time + recast), repeat? gives you a good 7+ seconds to click a manastone, plus more if you are smart about it. i would be willing to bet a 60 cleric could recoup the mana of 2 cheals by manastoning (just make sure to avoid low hp agro). just did the math quick, i think the cleric would need about 3k hp to avoid low hp agro and see a net gain in mana from this. for sure this is a lot more impressive (and a lot more work) than just mindlessly clicking a bp every 30 seconds, but it is also pretty easily repeatable and standard.
i'm not sure of the merits of having ragefire on a list like this. not to say its not impressive, but there is only one way to kill it (tank+cleric). you couldn't use a charmed pet since it would get feared, and if it had enough MR to resist fear, then you wouldn't be holding it charmed for very long. (EDIT: the fact that there is only one way to kill it doesn't make it unimpressive. its really the cut and dry, overly simplistic method of killing it that, for me, makes it less than god-like) i would of course love to see what class combo's can duo it (clr/sk?, clr/paly?, clr/ranger?, clr/shaman??) and maybe someone will come out with an impressive non-cleric duo, but any cleric/tank duo seems to be the result of excellent gear + a cut and dry, zero risk strategy. also, i have to ask, are these war/clr duo's getting to ragefire's lair by themselves with a full pop? (a monk/clr could easy do it with FD). i'd bet that you could get by the 4-pull and other mobs on the way, but has it been done? if i'm talking out my ass, and there is a lot more to the fight, please correct me. i am impressed by this duo, but it also leaves me a bit unfulfilled :/

Handull it becomes a matter of mathematics with a manastone for encounters like this.
First you have donals BP wrong - right now its a 20 second cast time, mana free CH that can be recast immediately. Second the true power of the manastone is in its mana to hp conversion ratio compared to the mana to hp healed ratio of the healing spell being utilized by its user. Lets look at a cleric as you're using in your example. For simplicity sake in math lets say he has 3000 hp self buffed. With a mana stone you exchange hp for mana at a 3 to 1 ratio. With our above mentioned cleric they could conceivable exchance 3000 hp for 1000 mana (I'd assume they regen an HP or 2 by the time they're done clicking their stone 50 times). After a CH, spending 400 mana, thats a net gain of 600 mana. Pretty good for about 12-13 seconds of work in the old world. The true problem with this scenario is that Ragefire AoEs. Thus a cleric cannot mana stone down to 1% before CHing. They would conceivable have to stone down to 40% or so and then CH to prevent AOE or if the tank takes a fear and they're at 10%...they have to leave a buffer incase of an unlucky aoe. That means they only have 1800 or so (60% of 3000 hp) to stone down. This yields them 600 mana; after a CH thats net mana gain of only 200 mana. 200 mana instead of 600 mana gain is huge. It means they have to stone down twice and CH twice to be able to regain the mana burned from 1 CH on their tank. Thats 22 seconds worth of work (if you're spot on timing stoning down/ch 22 would likely be the bare minimum) to be able to regain the mana to cast 1 spell that takes 10 seconds. Total time = 32 seconds per CH compared to 20 seconds on Donals BP CH. More like 34-35 seconds with stoning/CHing. I don't think it can be done tbh. Perhaps I'm playing it safe saying only to stone down to 40%; Maybe 20% of the clerics hp would be safe. If so that would be a net gain of around 400 mana per stone and thus a CH recast time of 22-23 seconds on the tank. Someone please prove me wrong [You must be logged in to view images. In your first post you mentioned getsome and motec duoing ixiblat and maestro. If they did, those kills were before the zone agro changes in hate and before the upgraded more beefy Ixiblat that hits harder regens more and cant be slowed.
So obviously you have to take into consideration the time period in which the kills took place because they were trivial at one point.

I have a similar attitude to Ragefire. OK, he's tough, but we have an algorithm for killing him (send tank+donals cleric). And it seems that algorithm is not that hard for people to copy (4 different clerics, 3 different tanks). So I'm happy to put up the first few people who did it on the god kills list, but I don't think doing it at this point is as awesome.

I suppose I take the opposite stance. Ragefire should be on the list for a couple reasons. 1 he is a dragon. 2 he drops great loot, such as CoF. 3 our goal shouldn't be to exclude certain classes from the competition, and as of now it would appear it is only doable by cler/war... I am certainly ok with not being able to take out mobs that are on the list for class reasons.
It does seem like a donals cleric is the winning formula for this fight but I guess I don't see any good reason to exclude it. After all, it is the easiest mob on the god-mode list and we should encourage people to try to compete. Finally I like the fact that ragefire is somewhat immune to a duo of charmed pets because of its fear. It gives a variety to the list and I just don't want this list to become what can a shaman/enc do rather than what can the p99 population do.
