I spent time with family and took the kids trick-or-treating.

Maybe I'm just a cranky person, but when you run an event that is less fun than no event at all, I think criticism is justified. I mean, the whole reason people get excited for events is because they're supposed to be a special encounter that people can go to and have an unique and fun experience. If the broadcast had been "Wait in EC for over an hour for nothing to happen, then all scramble across the world to sit in another zone for a couple hours getting killed and DC'd, and then go to fear and do the same thing", I highly doubt as many people would have showed up.

No on is saying they don't appreciate what the server staff does, but when you hold an event that appears to have zero planning or foresight and get hundreds of players involved under the impression it would actually be a classic-esque holiday event, I don't think people are out of line for being a bit miffed when it end up not being any fun. I'm sure the intention was for it to be fun, but that doesn't mean everyone who doesn't pretend it was is some entitled jerk.

I think what these folks are trying to say is...... Thank you for your time in hosting the Halloween event. Although it was not perfect, as nothing usually is when 400 people gather in one zone, we appreciate the effort, and all the time the GMs and developers put into the server.

So what was actually obtainable from this event? What kinda stuff did people walk away with? I decided to skip this event entirely.

I think there is an RnF forum for this, perhaps venting is better kept there?

I cant really comment one way or another, although I guess I am glad I logged when I did because I had been camping in CB till about 7pm PST and had no such issues.

This was a Halloween event. There were Tricks and Treats. Most treats were given to the lower level players (as it is in the real world). ALL the tricks were given to the higher level players. The true treats were for the GM staff watching the continual wiping of players. And, on top of it, just when things got settled down in lfay and the gods were dropping, mayhem ensued for another round of wiping. All in all, sorry you did not get pixels and now you are mad (lol) but, chalk one up to the Staff. This event was a WIN for the mobs.
