i'll concede it and even concede that appearing at a rally that genocide proponents enjoy constitutes a conspiracy to commit. nevertheless here there is no threat of the crime being committed. ergo it is a "victimless crime". and -- most of the people doing it know that this is the case; ergo it is not a firmly sincere conspiracy anyway. from this state people may reform, or continue uselessly squawking at no harm to anyone.

if we were in a Weimar type political turmoil, more drastic measures might be useful to suppress danger. but we are far, far from that. we should avoid measures that escalate toward it. our institutions and culture (and demographics, hello) crushingly marginize right wing murder ideology.
