70ish when on my broadband, don't think that's it. Oddly, 170 ping on my tethered android is feeling better in terms of this "video slowdown" problem. Maybe coincidence :>

Oh, could this be a dual-core issue? Says "slow movement" can be a symptom of it in the other thread.

It wouldn't hurt to try, there's a dual core fix option in there. I thought that was mostly characterized by warping/intense moments of speed but you should definitely try it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Multi-boxing doesn't exist on this server. You are IP restricted to 1 account per server per IP for P99 & R99 (so you can play one character on P99 and one character on R99 concurrently, but not 2 accounts on the same server). If you have another real life person on the same IP as you, such as a roomate or spouse, apply for an IP exemption in the Petitions & Exploit forum, following the IP exemption request guidelines. Once you have an IP exemption, there are also repercussions for being caught multi-boxing.

TL;DR: Play 1 character at a time on P99/R99.

In that case, I would recommend you connect with the EQEmu community for more general information. Since you posted on P99/R99 forums, I assumed you wanted to multibox on these servers. Here is the EQEmu homepage. If you drill down into Server List and then select "View" under View Information column (The Hidden Forest Example), you will find the homepage for the specific server you wish to multibox on. You may also ask your question in the Forums section of EQEmu. Those are more appropriate places to ask about multiboxing on other EQEmu servers.

This thread is getting to the point where it may need to be rebuilt and expanded into two threads:

Installing P99 on a Mac
Troubleshooting P99 on a Mac

If only to keep the information organized and easy to follow. It still is if you read the thread from start to finish, but it would be nice to have it in a pretty presentation.

I will post instructions on increasing gamma through wine.

I will also post instructions on how to use wine to simulate a three button mouse with a single button mouse. IE: OSx allows you to use control, option, and command but EQ does not using the default installation instructions.

I work support for a software company, so I could probably do this for the community.

Phobus and Avatar if it is okay with you for me to repost your work (with credit of course) I will do so.

--

In short:

We have a basic setup guide that gets EQ loaded, logged in, and essentially functional. There are some particulars scattered throughout the thread that should be in the initial guide.

Pushing mouse modifying key combinations through wine to EQ:

(aka how to right click on a macbook in EQ)

I keep my P99 icon docked.

Ctrl click the icon, options> show in finder

Ctrl click P99, show package contents

Open Wineskin

Click Advanced

Click Options

Check "Emulate three button Mouse (Alt+Click = Middle click, Cmd+Click = Right click)

Click Done

Click Advanced

Click Kill Wineskin Processes (and click Yes to confirm)

Click Done

Click Quit

Launch P99

To increase gamma through wineskin for P99

Caveat Emptor: I have not actually tested this to see if it makes any noticeable difference in-game. But this is how you increase gamma for wineskin.

I keep my P99 icon docked.
Ctrl-click the icon, options>show in finder
Ctrl-click the icon, show package contents
Open Wineskin
Click Set Screen Options

Check out that sweet "Extra Gamma Correction" slider!

I put mine right in the middle.

Click Done
Click Advanced
Click Kill Wineskin Processes
Click Done
Click Quit
Launch P99 and away you go!
