Most of my trips were during the early 90s, the final years of the Grateful Dead when Jerry was alive. Here are 2 I remember that I think are worth sharing.
Did a couple hits of blue unicorn on Long Island at a spring tour Dead show, maybe 91? my girl didn't do any (she only smoked weed) so she passed out right after the show, but I was seeing things like fairies flying around the room and sprinkling pixie dust or some shit on her, passed out on the hotel bed in her purple hippie skirt. I was going to try to "get some" while she was asleep, which now that I look back is kinda creepy, but the fairies flew in front of her and warned me not too. The next day when I told her about it she said I should have got some. Damn fairies...
In North Jersey at a summer tour show at Giants stadium, 93 or 94 I think. Did some "green slide" which was just a sheet of green paper acid, nothing fancy, but damn it was good. Was with a couple friends, saw lots of crazy stuff at the show like flying dogs chasing frisbees. After the show we did a couple fat nitrous balloons and then later back at the hotel my boom box was changing color to the music of Jimi Hendrix. Mostly psychedelic colors but during third stone from the sun it looked like it was made out of moon rock. The last thing I remember from that night, during Karn Evil 9 by ELP, was the entire room coming to life, the doors of the closet, the drawers of the dressers, opening and closing, even the lampshades moving to the music.
When I stopped following the Dead, when Jerry died in 95, was when I pretty much stopped tripping. Working and married with kids now, so I can only enjoy the occasional flashback. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
