Default Hi

Hi!

I have started a shaman on p99 (Joror). I played on Venril Sathir ca 2001-2005 and had tons of fun getting flagged for PoP. The most fun though was doing ldon's!!

I played eq2 after that, and returned to play casual on alīkabor, but one day it was gone (I was a mac guy in those days)...

I play very casual when family and job allows.

Just saying hi before returning to [apprehend the fugitives] for Margyn... (if I can figure out how to phrase my answer..

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you might be better off playing a solo class at least at the start to get your feet wet as they say. Some classes don't fare well just dropping out of a group like say healers and tanks compared to a Wizard, Mage, even a backup DPS can sort of quit if need and the group goes on.

This game works out pretty well either way depending on the class solo or grouped.. GL.

Thank you [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I have always played healer types, and I loved slowing last time around, so I figured a shaman would be fun. Its going ok, killing white cons and setting up the ui...

I love the Duxa Ui. Best in the game for Casters I think. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah, like the other guy said, having the healer drop group does suck for the rest of the group. That said, Shamans can be great soloers, albeit they start very slow at first but they are one of the few classes that get stronger as they level (Enchanters being the other I can think of).

Shamans are a lot of fun and are a fast-paced class due to the sheer number of buffs they have and cannibalize. Their epic is also one of the easiest to get. However, they are expensive to gear out. To really get the most out of a Shaman at high levels you're going to want Fungi and Torpor, which combined will run you ~200k platinum.

But like I said, Shamans can solo just fine, and main heal a group probably until late 30s / early 40s. Great class.

Thx for replies! I'm enjoying everfrost, and was fortunate to get a surprise donation from a very kind player to help me get started with my spell purchases [You must be logged in to view images. I do see the point in maybe levelling up a more dps kind of character which would not cripple a group if i suddenly have to leave - I think i'll try a wizard or a ranger alt to play the short stints, and then only group on the superfun shammy when i time to continuoius grouping.

Shamans can solo pretty well. . .I would just solo when you cant afford the time to group this will make the class you want to level more obtainable.
