enh should probably just tune down exp loss
until the lag settles down
Not sure what a proper percentage should be, I know for me personally about 75%-80% (or more) of my deaths are caused by server lag, but I may be an outlier. Not really saying the death penalty should be reduced by 75% but really if I had gm rezzes for every lag death, that would be the net result anyway. Not classic? Hey guess what the lag isn't either I know it's difficult to have a powerful free server, but hey, what it is is what it is

Uh lag was 100% classic. You had completely full servers on 28 or 56k modems and p400's.

Lag was classic, but i don't think in the 7 years i played i ever experienced lag every day like this.

The game was still laggy for me as well. It settled somewhat after tweaking the .ini file, but some zones (EC, GFay) always lagged after 6pm or so ... and even when I first got cable modem in early '00.

The GMs are still fine tuning the simulated lag they will get it under control soon

Perhaps. I mean the first few patches put down the servers for what 24 or 36 hours?
More importantly you have way more access to exp on this server so dieing is not nearly as big a deal, and you do occasionally get gm rezzes here which would never happen in live.

Well we also only have, what, 1%(?) of the amount of rezzers that a typical live server had.
I logged in today for about 3 minutes and lost all of the effort I put into the game the prior day due to lag, so I support this.
