Steel Hilted Flint Dagger: incorrect drop rate
According to Allakhazam this is supposed to be a common drop item. According to mqemulator its supposed to drop 100% of the time. I have now killed it upwards of 10 times and only seen a fire opal. Hes also supposed to be 100% chance to drop words. According to the wiki its a ultra-rare drop. Is there any sort of documentation that its supposed to be a super-rare drop cuz everything I'm seeing is pointing the other direction.

Agreed though, it isn't irrefutable evidence. However, it's a good starting point as the second link does support the first and is more specific about droprates, whereas other websites don't even list SHFD as a drop, likely due to its rarity. https://web.archive.org/web/20020208...ptfeaster.html [You must be logged in to view images. If the item always dropped, how could it be omitted from another website's comprehensive bestiary loot table, with the other item still being listed? Waybacking one of the sites provided in the original post, Allakhazam, the earliest entry lists only that "this item can be found on creatures" which left visitors at a loss as late as 2002 when beastlords were in game and included in the item's description. The emulator site goes on to list Gloves of True Darkness as being on the same loot table, an item apparently from the LDoN expansion, plus other items that were also introduced long after the classic timeline. Quote:

Okay so that post is from Nov 2001, we are in December 2001 and I cant find anything in the changelog from any point about the drop rate changing from ultra rare to common, there has to be something in the changelog if it in fact changed to common then. Where is that documentation?

Verant/SoE often made all sorts of changes to stuff like drop rates without specifically documenting them in patch notes. That's what makes researching to find in era proof of various changes so challenging. GL in your search.
