I'm tempted but.. Idk. Think so few Blue players went to Red on launch that they've forgotten what a fresh launch is like.

50% of me loves the idea there'd be a server full of level 1's, and i can play any class i want without the rape penalty, legacy items, new pals, oh my.

50% of me loves having 200+ wis and 40+K in gear: all acquired by sitting on my ass in EC, semi-afk, flipping gear. It's also nice knowing that every day I decide on RL over EQ, I wont be left in the dust by the entire server who will probably camp their computer chairs for a week to go farm out everything Pre-Nerf.

On Red server, I probably played half the time the "serious" players did, and that was A TON of EQ for me. Did that for a month, stayed with the pack, and eventually got tired of 9+ hours of EQ a day and immediately got left behind. I know thats whats waiting for me on sleeper.

Aside from all this, when I got on their server, pretty much no one responded to tells. Talked to one GM who was pretty much a dick. I'll probably get on the minute it launches and take a bunch of sweet ass names then sell them [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Raid token idea sounds like a pretty good shot at an idea to combat the poisonous
end game here, so I like that.

Not so sold on the two boxing.

Also not so keen on going through the grind again.

Competing for mobs is what everquest was all about. Not to the extent the immature fucktard raiders of P99 bring it to, but letting everyone get every raid target? Might as well go play WoW. Same game, better graphics.

Personally don't like wow graphics too bubbly/cartoony for my taste. It's put together well and all that it just seems a little hokey to me.

when i started playing EverQuest in 2000, i was enamored with the idea of a massively multiplayer Player vs. Environment game. i was pretty disappointed when i realized how much competition there was in the endgame. i'd much prefer just getting together with a bunch of friends and accomplishing something difficult. it still takes talent to kill raid mobs! even a 100 person raid can wipe to Cazic Thule if they don't know what they're doing. having to sit there and wait for hours or even days on end just to beat another guild to the punch is completely unappealing to me.

while on the other hand, p99 is here forever, right?

this server could disappear any day as well.

Insta-start on Velious? They could risk scattering a low population across 2 expansions. Will they equal or better the P99 population? Doubtful.
