Default Sometimes I wish I didn't like helping people.

When some one spends more than an hour trying to get a rez for you, and then to even find your mysteriously missing corpse, do them the courtesy of responding to their tells and ESPECIALLY tell them when you've gotten the problem solved so they don't just keep AIMLESSLY SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT EXIST.

That is all.

Sigh. I'm going to go punch some babies now.

I'm assuming he either told you the incorrect amount of corpses (exaggerated it) or found one of his corpses and looted it.. either way... super lame.

I've had sort of a similar experience, though the guy wasted his own time as well - I felt bad for this dude, so I ran him from EC to Qeynos Hills (mid-level bard speed) to find his corpse. Turns out he died in East Karana instead, which, since we RAN to Qeynos Hills, we had actually gone through 15 minutes ago. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yet another time when niceness screwed me. This will probably be a TL[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]R for most people.

I was in EC /ooc-ing to try and pay for a port to NK. My end destination being Qeynos. Another Guy (not his name, obviously) piped up that he was also looking for a port to NK. We were both /ooc=ing for it, and /auctioning for it for a couple minutes. After a bit I figured, screw it, if I'm going to run cross-country I have to go through WC anyways, so I could check and see if there were any druids there while I'm running through.

I check who is in the zone, and see Another Guy is there, along with a druid from his guild. Another Guy must have zoned in just a few seconds before me, because I had just seen him /ooc in EC. So, I /ooc for the port again, offering to pay, etc. And get no response. I slowly make my way across the zone, being low level and all, have to be careful. Even though I have Gather Shadows, there's always some undead around. I keep checking who is in the zone, and Another Guy and Druid Guildmate eventually vanish. I knew they'd ported out. They were going to exact same place I wanted to go. Why couldn't they have let me hitch a ride?

A little miffed, I make the slow, tedious, slightly dangerous trek across the continent. I am finally in WK and just to the last guard tower before the QH zone when I get a tell from none other than Druid Guildmate. He asked if I could locate his corpse. I very briefly toy with the idea of ignoring him or telling him to fuck off. After all, why should I help him after he wouldn't help me? But, being the nice guy that I am, I say "sure" and ask where he's at. He halfway back the way I came in the zone. A good 4-5 minute run.

Not wanting to have to run all the way back to this guard tower again, I bind myself there. I tell him I'm on my way and set out. I'm just about there when I get a tell from him saying something to the effect of "Nevermind, found it." At that very instant, I get attacked by a werewolf. I don't know where he came from. I was watching where I was going. I try gating back to the guard tower, twice, but it gets interrupted both times and I die, losing a level in the process.

I tell him something like "I died on the way anyways." And he apologizes and asks where I am, etc. Oh he's real helpful now, yeah. But I just tell him I'm good, bound in the zone, nothing to worry about. You know, being the nice guy that I am.

As a result, more babies were punched last night.

I offer you my most tender and heartfelt condolences, Kyosho. Clearly you are not deserving of such ill treatment. I know you stand as a beacon of light in a sea of darkness! Shine bright, friend, and perhaps the scourge of Norrath shall one day perish.

The next time you get screwed over for being nice you should send Rogean a message explaining what happened. Perhaps he'll give you the Manastone that you deserve for being such a nice guy. Or maybe he'll tell you to shut the hell up and to stop crying.
