Gearing as you go (Enchanter)

Hi all, I've started my first character here: Sleeptrain, an enchanter, level 9. First of all - huge kudos to the devs/community for recreating the EQ that lives so fondly in my memory.

My question: what quests/gear should I be thinking about over the next 20 levels? I plan on doing the Stein of Moggok quest at level 12. I've also seen some rings with + to INT and CHA for very cheap being auctioned (5pp ish). What other quests/mob drops from 10-30 are feasible for a naked toon that will yield helpful items?

You can buy crude steins (+10 STA +15 CHA offhand only) from merchants in Oggok for like 8 gold, because people kill the ogre guards and sell it there (it's lore thus you can only carry one at a time). Just make the run to Feerrott and make an ogre mule or pay a newb ogre to buy one for you. It's what I did for my chanter.

The only important stat is HP & Charisma.

Crude Stein as mentioned is good.

Cat's Eye Necklace is 125pp or so and great cha.
Stein is OK as well

You can also quest Incandescent Mask earlier on, but probably not til your 30s.

"Opalline Earrings are 5 CHA and also very cheap, would recommend. CHA is your friend once you start charming._ Aim for 200

You could have just cast illusion:dark elf and done it yourself at level 8. Just sayin.

Camp korvik the cursed in NK for gypsy medallion or split paw tooth necklace.
Find jewel crafter for 7cha bracers (40p each?).
Siren hair hood in rathe mtns at 40 or so.
Drake hide leggings in sola. Can be done at 28-30.
Opalline earrings from unrest. Mid 20's.
Crude stein.
Incandescent quests are super easy. Can so mask and gloves at 30.
Rod of glamour (quest) can be done solo around 32.

Do it yourself. More satisfying.

Stein of Moggok you can do at 8 I believe as any race, thanks to illusions. The hardest part for me was the bixies. Getting the other pieces and running around was simple, even as a DE.

For the bixies, wait until day time and go to kithicor. Got them real quick there compared to misty thicket.

lvl 8 for DE lvl 12 for anything else

The west-most tower on the Wall in Misty Thicket has a 3-4 bixie spawn point. Summon pet->Sit down and check every 5 minutes, you'll have tons of honeycomb in no time.

Save up and look for Loam encrusted gear, prioritize Cha (until 200 at least)>HP>Int
