The only AOE Mez that i'm aware of in the game at this point (Mesmerisation) Is blocking out higher level single target mezzes (such as enthrall) - stating that it is a higher level mez spell.
This really hurts our mezzing becaue all the aoe mezzed mobs break at the same time and there is no way to remez except by using the same low duration aoe mez. Please change it so our longer lasting single target mezzes can be applied to mobs AFTER aoe mezzed. Thanks

Oddly enough you can Overwrite Mesmerization (lvl16 AoE) with Mesmerize (lvl4 Single Target), but not with Enthrall (lvl16 Single Target).
Then, once it is Mesmerized with Mesmerize (lvl4), you cant overwrite it with Enthrall (lvl16). Someone also said this problem exists with our Weaken line of spells (-agi -str), but i havn't tested that yet. So if your going to use the AoE mez, your going to have to use the lvl4 mez and just reapply it a lot... since it has a short duration. At least until this is fixed. Bard mez overwrites enchanter mez. Enchcanters should be able to overwirte the lower bard mez.
If a bard mez's a target, you cast mez on target it dosen't stick. But enchanter gets the aggro hit. It should overwrite due to the higher lvl spell and duration. It can really cripple a group if a bard decides to mezz a few things. Shuts your enchanter down and kills him. Fix?

lol, yah. The first time i used my AoE mez i almost got myself killed. I Couldn't put up my targeted Mez, then all the AoE mez mobs got out of mez at the same time and came for me. O_o
Wonder why the lvl4 mes doesn't have this problem.

BUMP.
I try to tell the bard to either not mez at all unless I'm dead, or be solely responsible for mezes. The bard usually then says "I'll stop mezzing".

I seem to recall Sony having the same issues over the coarse of EQ.
Some times you could override AE mezz and sometimes you couldn't. Not completely sure how it was original from day one, but as it was a common tactic to use short duration AE first and then remezz with higher lvl single target mezz, pretty sure the supposed function is to be able to override ae mezz on each mob without the ae mezz falling on the other mobs before its duration time ends ie. after the AE mezz has landed on eg. 4 mobs, it should be regarded as 4 individual debuffs

till this gets fixed tell the bard to slow the mob after mezz. that should generate enough aggro for the bard
