You SHOULD be able to cast a stun spell and interrupt a dragon's spell casting.

But its pretty difficult to disprove something that never existed during classic. There are 0 references in any classic guides to suggest pushing from one side to prevent a spell cast. They all talk about draining mana or stunning.

Works like this with yael on p99 atm i think; stuns appear to land and they interrupt his casting, but he continues to turn and move and melee.

I don't think it's so much the stun "works" but many stuns have a knockback component that will work on stun immune mobs and help with interrupts. I think then the divine stun AA paladins got in Luclin was the first 55+ stun.

Also completely irrelevent since it only became a thing with the 61 air pet but pets could stun anything. I remember fighting quavonis in fire, his shadowstep was like 7 second cast time. If you looked at the logs an air pet would land a stun on him it interrupts right away.

Wouldn't knockback only interrupt at the end of a cast? The stuns I've cast on yael seem to interrupt immediately.

Aside from other stupid suggestions made in these guide (as with about 90% of the old guides from back then), it again mentions using stuns to prevent CH/casts on a stun immune mob.

I think more raids woulda been wise to it and used the stuns if they worked. I specifically remember it was all about getting her mana down asap.

So all of these quotes in era are incorrect then? Is that what you're all suggesting?

I've YET to find a single mention of pushing a mob causing a channeling skill fail and interrupting it. I don't think mobs had channeling check until later on and will continue to believe that until evidence is provided from 1999-2001 to prove otherwise. But as it stands, I think there is enough evidence supporting a stun spell or a bash/slam has a chance to interrupt a spell cast from an unstunnable mob like a dragon.
