Default Druid - Viability

NOTE: I did my research before I posted, couldn't find anything recent.

Never played a druid, played through most all other classes, but I'm new to PVP and I wanted to know, if a druid is one of those classes of which tactics and skills allow them to outmatch other classes.

Or are they gear dependent etc?

Also, I'm not familiar about the resists, is that a big issues at higher levels as well?

And do other druid stats offer less resists on casts? (such as wisdom?)

Thanks for any and all information guys!

No more gear dependent than any other class, and less than melees for sure.

Druids do very well until the end game honestly. Good solo gank class because of their portability and versatility. They are worthless and bring nothing to the table for high end PVE though, and are mediocre in high end PVP.

It's the sort of class that can fill in a lot of roles but isn't strong in any of them, especially on the PVE side. They are the sort of class everyone likes having around as an alt but nobody wants to play them as their main character.

How do they work 1 vs 1 in open grounds vs most classes?

I'd say they do alright 1v1 if played right and they get the jump. Just an easy class to counter with dispells and stacking FR (easiest resist to get high, due to ragefire armor, gloves from sky, drakescale belt, frog crown, etc).

level 54 is their key PVP range.

Blizzard is insane!

Current #1 "PvPer" is a 54 druid.

only losers pick druids to be a pvp class

they suck vs raid bosses and suck as healers

they are great at powerleveling new chars, nothing else.

druids can be really good in the right hands ie smallmee and some others but yes theyre gear dependent like every other class and you will get resisted at high levels vs people with top end gear

Druids are uber. Especially 1v1. If you say otherwise you're a scrub.

Druids suck at level 60. If you want to gank low level ungeared players like Smallmee then they're alright I guess.

in hate/fear/sky druids can be very close to the top of the DPS charts and can provide some much needed utility as well - see Daldaen.
