Default outdated spell files

I downloaded v35 patch, applied it, and i get outdated files. so i tried the patch several times over to the eq directory, no luck. I deleted the eq install and copied over a backup, applied patch, no go..

Now ive reinstalled from disc, did the setup, applied patch, no go..

Im out of ideas. Whats going on?

I dont have an antivirus that runs all the time. I just do periodic scans with malwarebytes..

But I did get it working. Heres what I did in case it helps

First I search my drive for "sony" and I deleted everything that came up.

I uninstalled all the stuff I used to enhance the game from this forum, like the midisynth program for better music, the enbinjector graffix thing.

I went to the user directory and deleted every bit of temp files and all the versions of the downloaded p99 patches

Then I copied over an already patched (v35) directory from another computer to my desktop instead of my program files directory.

Thats it, game works, although my town music doesn't anymore, gonna work on that now

installing in program files was your problem from the start. It might not get you the first time but eventually it will and did.

good to know, I'll leave it on my desktop then. Just so I know, why does that mess the game up sometimes?
