Shouldn't have picked a wizard, dude. I've done the math on my 60 wizard, they're just plain awful in a group setting.

were not the best dps but at least us wizards get some utility later on with snare and evacs and we can burn a mob down pretty quickly. I don't think were so awful, although we might just be the most useless class in the entire game in a camp that is higher then our level.

as for finding groups I've had success just following the crowd and going to populated zones. May have to wait a bit at times but spots open up and people are more then willing to invite any class as long as they fit the role. On my 28 Wiz I've been rotating between Highkeep and Mistmoore. It's nice being bound at highkeep and just porting to the gfay spires for a quick walk to MM.

I've done the math on this, and turns out this isn't min-maxquest. Give the guy a fucking break. If he wants to play a wizard then that's great. I'm leveling my wizard (currently 36) and I'm having a freaking blast.

We may be on the lower end of sustained DPS, but we do have other things going for us, such as ports, roots/snares, the ability to delete mobs quickly on a large pull, evacs (saved my groups multiple times and I'm only in my 30s), etc.

We also have the ability to solo efficiently post-29/34. It is people who tell others to not play class X, Y, or Z that make me mad. People in classic played whatever they wanted and there was a hell of a lot more class diversity.

I am one of the least min-max people on the server, I fill dps roles with paladins and iksar shadowknights all the time. I hate seeing non-solo classes sitting on their asses LFG. I invite anyone to a group even if we are holding down a camp fine with fewer people to my group-mates' dismay. I'd rather get shit exp with 6 people than shred with 1-3. I believe in underdog classes, my main was a wizard, now it's a ranger. I constantly say on these forums that race decision should depend on what you think is coolest. I think fungi tunics ruin newbie zones and should be removed from the server and actively chastise selfish min-max attitudes in my groups.

ALL THAT BEING SAID I DON'T INVITE WIZARDS TO GROUPS BECAUSE THEY SHOULD SOLO

A lvl 60 wizard regens 20 mana per tick

3.333 mana per second

sunstrike does 1615 damage for 450 mana

that's 3.6 damage per mana (COMPARED TO DRUID AND MAGICIAN 3.2 DAMAGE PER MANA RATIO)

3.333 * 3.6 = 12 damage per second at lvl 60.


Druids have a fuck ton more utility than wizards do and only do .4 dmg/mana less.

Wizards are a horrible fucking class in groups. I'm not dissing wizards, I think they're a great solo class, chardok class and raiding class, but they are god awful in groups. I've been on top of my shit in seb and HS, keeping casters stunned, keeping a mana reservoir for hairy situations. It's still not worth it. We were always hurting for dps and groups were always silently resentful when a monk or rogue was LFG. If you want to group, play another class.
