Very newbie question here

I know I can make some hot keys to do things like /loc - but I either have a glitch or I don't know what I'm doing. Could someone explain how to actually make a hot key? Not just what to type, but how to actually physically make it? I thought you just had to hold a right click down in a space, but that's not working...is it me???[You must be logged in to view images. So, I'm at work and doing this from memory, but basically ...

1. up open your "Abilities" window by pressing CTRL+A (if it isn't open already that is; if it is skip this step)
2. click on the last tab, which should be called "social" or something like that
3. the first pane of the social tab will be filled; click on the right arrow to go to the next pane
4. you should now have a pane of buttons with no labels; right-click on one to edit it
5. put whatever you want in to the edit lines; one common macro I make is /doability 1 (sense heading is my 1st ability) and then /loc
6. give that macro a name and click save
7. click and drag your new button over to your hotkeys area (or you could just use it from the abilities pane, but that's awkward)
8. profit!
