Default Rogue Soloing help.

Hello all this is Fourtwentytime Hlafling Rogue. Im starting to play now after being gone for years. I played a lil way back in the day. So i decided to make a rogue because in all my other mmorpgs ive played ive been a rogue. I am compleltly untwinked except a few items some nice people gave me.

How do i approach leveling on the blue server as a rogue. I will most likely be soloing most of the way as my play times will be erretic for now. Do i just basicly find blue con mobs and just grind on them? Also any key pieces of cheap gear i should save up for that will help my leveling process?

Finnaly if you see me in game say hi. I will be too!...i mean will say hi too! I will most likely engage you in rp so please be prepared for that. Thank you for all advice and help. And also thank you for the people that have given a few things your awsome!!

You are gonna have a bad time. Its pretty much hope a backstab lands on your first attack and fight it out. Afterwards bind wound. At 22 you get instill doubt so you can fear kite and at 28 I believe is when the snare dagger can proc. As for key peices of gear is 2 55hp 5ac rings and a dagger with a high base damage. Had you not been a halfling you could have went for a tree weave and hero bracer for an extra 20 str which helps a ton.

Up to you buy them, make them only takes like 20 in tailoring, or have a mage summon you a bunch of them. Rogues just arent great soloers compared to necros, shamans, enchanters, druids, monks, and mages. Backstab is your destroy the enemy button but you can't really use it effectively without a back to stab.

Fungi tunic, Ragebringer, and a 150 bow w/ 150 arrows so you can be lazier with pulls. Otherwise don't even try. Soloing is for extremely twinked rogues which doesn't apply to you. That's not a bad thing. You're gonna have to group to 60, and to do that effectively you need to make friends. Guess where you find friends? Groups. Know where you find really good friends? Groups you invite them to.

Get creative. Druid + rogue, ranger + rogue, druid + necro or enc + rogue, bard + rogue all work very well as atypical groups outdoors. You need someone who can fear and snare or someone who can snare and kite while holding agro. The point is to not need heals. Get a good bow and good arrows. They'll help and pulling makes your job more interesting.

Rogues are not easy to level and that's the reason they take less exp to advance. If you can stick with it, you'll have the most powerful sustained DPS class for groups and raiding. But no matter how high you level, rogues still won't be able to solo dark blues very well at or at all.

I was an untwinked main rogue with erratic playtime myself a few years ago. It's doable and the last thing the server needs is another epic twink. Necro / druid are not good cash makers unless you wanna powerlevel people and you have to be pretty high level to even try that. I think making a soloer to twink a melee is a waste of time.

If you wanna be a rogue, invest the time on the rogue. But.. make a solo alt. Having a lower level druid alt to play was amazing when I couldn't find a group or dealing with people in groups I found drove me crazy. Don't rely on them as a cash maker, instead consider them as an alternative to 100% grouped leveling. It'll break up the tedium immensely.

Was a new to the server untwinked rogue when I first started myself. Everything Cecily has said is spot on. If I couldn't find a group to join or people to join one I tried to start up, I would go play my lower level druid for a fun time. If you stick with the rogue and want to retain the classic experience, do what I did and don't buy a epic MQ that so many people are selling. Do the quest yourself when you're of level!

Making Slow poison will help you a lot soloing also.

All components sold in West Karana but may be a bit pricey.
