Hey all. Just started here a week or so ago and its taken me a couple of rerolls to find my groove. I finally settled on druid and loving it. My name is Ways on blue if you wanna say hi. Stoked to be here and playing eq again.
So far I've ran into a couple of nice folks and have gotten some bits of jewelry. I've managed about 75pp in savings from generous buyers of silk and bones. I just hit lvl 10 today and I'm wondering what I should be doing with my money. Spells seem expensive so there is that, but is there any basic druid gear I should be shooting for? I played melee from kunark to pop so I had no idea how spensive spells were. Appreciate your thoughts.

As you mentioned spells are expensive so def save for those and make sure you have enough cash at 14 to buy all of the spells that you want.
http://wiki.project1999.com/Wraith_Bone_Hammer is a good 1hb. You should be meleeing still for several levels. My druid is 20 and I still melee with this hammer. It's cheap and has some stats. At 14 you can solo the sisters camp in lfay (given that it is open, it is a very popular camp) the 4 sisters there are great exp and frequently drop bronze weapons that you can sell to nearby merchants for great cash.

Always remember the earning power of higher levels.
It is always better to gain experience at the cost of 'farming' as your potential for income generation is much greater at a higher level. It is rough starting out for sure, key spells should remain your #1 priority, obviously.

That's definitely a step up from my cracked staff, hah. I'll see if I can get a lift to WC this evening to shop the tunnel. Meleeing better would help a bit to not strip me of mana so quickly soloing.

At lvl 10 I would buy a full set of leather and a weapon like the hammer listed above and /beg/borrow my way to WK. With harmony you will have an easy time getting in a bandit group and those sashes pay a bronze weapon each on turn in plus nice xp.
That's like a lvl 14 spell paid for with each sash. Getting bound in Qeynos isn't always easy but stay patient!

Save money for spells. When you get to 29 and start porting, you will have plenty of plat for armor and anything you need.

Just group to 14, then you get SoW and Charm Animal. Go to EK and charm a Wolf and kill mobs in there. Spiders are good until 20, then you have have your self Port Spells. Opens up a lot more possibilities. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
