Ranger vs Monk vs Rogue vs Wizard

If I were to roll an alt on red server, what's a good PvP toon? I know there's no best toon but some class abilities are gimped in PvP like charm.

Rangers suck. Monks and rogues are top DPS with melees getting even better in velious (monks get triple attack as well) but casters take a hit in effectiveness because of the huge hp/resist boost that velious brings without getting better lures that actually land.

I'm interested to see the effect this really has. From what I can tell, enough personal wealth and access to high-end Kunark gear already allows players to make themselves almost invulnerable to spells.

Lots of Velious stuff has Magic Resist. I've been parsing through the new gear on the wiki and it seems like even solo farmers (not raid forces) will be able to collect a lot individual pieces to seriously pump up defenses against spells.

It seems the age of the Melee is approaching.

If its an alt, go wizard so you can solo, farm stuff, port, gank people, and gate away cause your you will be screwed with no gear and cant gate on the other classes.
