Default Which fantasy monster is missing from EQ?

EQ covers lots of fantasy creatures, both from classical mythology (from Greece, Egypt, Norse etc) as well as made up DnD mythology.

But I found one specific monster type missing - Flying Skull!
These would have been awesome in packs! They could bite and spit fireballs [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Imagine a raid scenario where boss unleashes a dozen of them at the raid [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

What do you think, what could have made great addition?

The people who invented the first space ships were brilliant. That doesn't mean anybody should actually want to use them 200 years later. Ideas are limited by means of execution. Everquest has amazing ideas that need to be completely reworked in their execution, in order for classic Everquest as it was envisioned to actually exist and continue to be relevant as things have evolved.

Beholders are trademarked so they couldnt be used

They are the only monster type that was trademarked by TSR (now WotC)

actually TSR/WOTC trademarked shit load of creatures many of which now confusingly considered to be part of classical fantasy. I can't find the link atm, but there were a good 2 dozen of creatures on the list. - one I remember for sure are Illithids, which EQ stole over and renamed in their DoDH expansion.

No, Beholders and Devourers are different - they are living monsters that well described in DnD mythology. (plus Beholder is mostly an EYE rather than a Skull)

Flying Skull would be Undead [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
