Default Problems after Server Restart

Is anyone else experiencing longer than normal zone times, and a lot more going LD while zoning since the server reboot yesterday? I know I am seeing a lot more of it,and in the past, my connection has always been very stable, now, I am usually having very, very long zone times, and often going LD on zoning.

I have also been having issues, just started in the last couple days. I frequently disconnect while zoning, causing my screen to freeze on the last frame of the zone for a long time before booting me out to the login screen (before server select). I also have to attempt to log in several times, as it often will not connect to the server (eqemu's server I guess? since it's for server selection, not just p99).

Edit: I also get the "spell files out of date" screen occasionally as others have mentioned.

AMD Phenom II Quad Core
5 GB DDR2
GeForce 560 Ti
Windows 7

Solutions I have tried:

Disabled loading screen art, re-applied latest p99 files, tried running with WinEQ 2.0 & without, run as administrator & in compatibility mode for Windows 98, 2000, & XP, added every version of "everquest.exe, eqgame.exe" etc that I could find to allowed programs list on firewall, tried disabling firewall.

Definitely only have a problem when zoning/loading. I played for a few hours lag-free without swapping zones. When I zoned, it did load after a while but from then on I had about 300+ ping, with actions some times delayed up to several seconds. I can play on other games with no latency.

I had zoning issues after the restart. Mine were:

Zone-----never load, task mgr kill eqgame.exe, start eq back up, wait for ld char to get kicked out, log back in. EVERY TIME I ZONED!

Now: My zone times are noticeably longer, but I do zone successfully.

For several days I keep going LD or 'desyncing' randomly, seems to happen once every couple hours. Tried fudging spell effects, I'm using eqw.. not sure what else to try. It started just before server crash. Previously I never had a single problem with LD's.

Yes this has been happening to me as well. Extremely long zone times, crash, reboot, etc.

I had this happen to be me before as well and lowering my graphics seemed to fix it but it is back again.

I wonder if Dev/Management have any issue due to the proximity to the server?

Addendum: Last night I had to kill the eqgame.exe process again, twice. Then log back in after zoning.

~100ms ping time constantly and 0 loss according to what the in game meter reads. (same as before)

Since it was a DB issue, I wonder if there is something up with disk latency after the fact. Only monitoring can tell. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Just throwing it out there.....

I'm having this problem as well and it started yesterday. When I zone, the game will freeze (not respond) and I'll have to close it down and restart, wait for my character to not be ld, etc. After crashing and restarting I will be able to zone normally again but after a while of playing it will crash again if i zone out. I have also noticed that on occasion the server list is empty. I'll have to logout and back in to get the server lists to appear. I have never had that issue until yesterday as well. I also encountered one more issue last night; After I crashed/restarted and got to the character select, i saw the spell client updating thing as if i needed to patch. I thought this was odd so i went to the forum to check if there was a new patch while i had been playing but there wasnt. i logged out and restarted again and all my characters were there like normal.
