Default AONs

Why is this even a discussion?
Sony added Nameplates to AoNs at the Luclin launch because it was beginning to be a problem.
On this box as of right now there is an INSANE amount of aons compared to live even AT LUCLIN erea, plus with a much more smaller population than live it has MORE NEGATIVE effects
How has this not been fixed yet?

I'm about 100% sure it was because the skeleton model was revamped with Luclin. Likewise, velious dire wolf model (without nameplate) was revamped, and gained a nameplate.

In all seriousness.. If this is your argument for AoN then why the non classic argument for recharging. If we are going to say hey aons are staying classic just play better.. Then can we revisit some of the previous custom changes like recharging

True. And it was beneficial to mass PvP. The end result was they obviously thought nameplates were a good idea for some reason, and the incoming expansion was a good time to implement it rather than coding before that since a crapload of models were being adjusted/changed.

It's a huge clusterf**k here and it's only going to get worse into Velious because if it's not changed not only will CT will still be dropping it but so will the golems...and it's only going to become an even larger issue.

The wording in the patch notes (which came 35 days after Luclin launch, not with the new models) seems to indicate they were trying to remove any occurrence where a nameplate did not appear:
Quote:
- A player character will always have a name over its head, even if
they are skeletons (unless /shownames is off), with the exception of
some rare cases when players are turned into certain NPCs

You can make that argument with every high end item currently in game. Why pick on the people who have AoNs?

I don't think there were 10-15 AoNs on live at this era, at least on Tallon Zek.
The number was lower.
