Default DoT Tracking

Hi all,

Is there a way to track DoTs?

I'm wanting to know when a DoT finishes so I can reapply it.

Thanks,

Vual - Human Necromancer - Level 3

You could set that up on an overlay program, like GINA.

When it says that it is finished. If you want to be classic.

Yeah I've root rot a lot with druids anyway, I just count ticks. It's roots that are more the problem, at least when they break early like often with giants. I mean especially when it breaks, the mob moves, then the dot does less damage (unless they are in fear). If you are on one type of mob over and over, you can usually time your dots by the mobs health % if you lose track of ticks. Also, moving from root breaks means that you would waste mana by possibly over dotting or DD down at the end.

You don't get the "whateverspell has worn off" message?.. i just make a separate chat window for spell worn off messages.

If you wait for the message you lose a tick though. And if stacked dots, even worse. It's usually not an issue, but sometimes it is due to other spell timer legnths. Like on some mobs, I find a root refresh is often needed right after the dots are recast. Lots of times I started late and then needed to break a dot recast to re-root or run back some.

Anyway, if you are not getting any message at all, you can click on the chat window at the top and set filters for your spell damage. That will show your ticks and the wear off message.

Thanks all.

I'll make a separate chat window for now and see how it goes.

I'm in the commonlands so don't get to see much chat with all the trading which is why I've never noticed the messages.

Thanks again all.

https://eq.gimasoft.com/gina/

Watches your log files for text triggers and displays configurable timers/messages based on those triggers. It's amazing and very powerful.
